Operation: Tonsils Postponed

Well, we made it all the way to the pre-op room at the hospital today but ultimately decided to delay Hank's surgery after speaking with our doctor.  There are risks associated with putting young children under general anesthesia multiple times before the age of 4 and since Hank had gone under for the removal of a small skin issue called a pyogenic granuloma when he was 10 months old, he falls into that category.  Our doctor felt that it wouldn't be harmful to delay the surgery for the short term so that's what we decided to do.

Another hard earned lesson in parenting for Matt and me; next time we will do our research earlier in the process when a decision about our child's health is on the table.  It's so hard to know if you are making the right call when it comes to this stuff, but I guess you just have to do what feels right.

Signing off with a well deserved glass of wine,

Une Maman Tres Fatigue

(That's One Very Tired Maman to you Americans)
