Summer lovin'...had me a blast

There is nothing like an extended stay in one of the best summer destinations in these United States of America to make you feel some summer loving!  Summer kicked off when school let out in early June and we couldn't wait for mid-July when we could pack up and head north for Cape Cod.  We rented the same house we stayed in last year in Dennis Village and really could not have enjoyed ourselves more.

The view from our bedroom...it doesn't get better.
This was the first real vacation we've taken as a family since the girls arrived and it was so great to be able unpack and relax for a loooong time without having to move anywhere.  The beach was 100 feet down the road, the pool was 10 feet away in the back yard and just across the street we had a lake.  We spent days digging in the sand, paddling on the paddle board, sailing the sun fish, splashing in the pool and eating more seafood than anyone should rightly enjoy in their lives.

Add to that visits from lots of family and friends, baseball games, bike trails, theatre outings and camps and you have a ton of summer fun.

Lobstah race!

Highlights include:

Gus turning 3!
Hank earning the "Swimmer of the Week" award at camp!!
Gus learning how to swim without floaties - the child is a fish, and a fearless one at that.
June and Dylan learning how to roll over, starting to sit up, and getting their first two teeth (each)!

We met Curious George, built sand castles and canal systems, rode our bikes on the rail trail, went swimming in kettle ponds and took a ride on a boat called the Lobster Roll.  We chased rabbits, ate ice cream, spotted meteorites and watched whales.

It was a no holds barred, fabulous vacation - the kind that makes you super-depressed when you get home to your hot, swampy, sweaty, cramped, has-no-yard, vertical-living house in the city.   We are already looking forward to next year :) Some more great Cape Cod shots below and click HERE for the whole collection (all 550 shots)....Enjoy!
